Christian Tortu's Story
The story of Christian Tortu, the man, the florist and the designer, begins in the garden of his parents' farm in the Anjou region of France. Upon arriving in Paris, he realised how much true nature was lacking in the carefully organised and planned parks of the French capital, giving rise to a desire to offer a new perspective on the use of plants, giving them a free and almost wild appearance, the same as he had enjoyed in his childhood. This endeavour paid off: before long, the world took notice of his highly imaginative yet simple compositions: his floral scenes were presented at the Cannes Festival and at the Chanel, Dior or Valentino fashion shows.
